Jimmy Don Manning, 70, joined his loving wife on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. He was born November 22, 1951, in Bastrop, LA to Hershel and Dorothy Manning. Jimmy Don was retired from Lockheed Martin after 29 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Joy Manning.
Jimmy Don is survived by his two daughters, Mandi Walker (Kevin) and Sandi Wright (Tim) both of Camden, AR; a brother, Gerald Manning (Gaye) of Camden, AR; and a sister, Judy Finney (Steve) of Black Springs, AR; grandchildren, Ariel Hall (Austin), Kaitlyn Wright (Parker), Megan Wright, and Gunner Walker all of Camden, AR; great-grandchildren, Levi Thompson, Naomi Hall, and Preslee Hall. He is also survived by his dear friend and "brother-in-love" Roger Thomas (Kay); mother-in-love, Margaret Thomas; sister-in-love, Judy Bryant (Eddy) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jimmy Don was an avid hunter and fisherman. He liked to spend his springtime at Brushy Creek campsite on DeGray and his fall and winter in the deer woods and at the deer camp. He was a devoted father and grandfather and great-grandfather
He loved all his family and was the true meaning of a good man. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone. He was someone who never met a stranger; whether you knew him for ten minutes or ten years, you had a friend from that moment on.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 Friday, October 7, 2022, at Proctor Funeral Home. Services will be 1:00 Saturday at Proctor Chapel followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
