Jimmie May Gray, 86, of Camden, AR, passed peacefully from this world to her eternal home with Christ on August 9, 2025.  Jimmie was born in Amarillo, TX, on August 22, 1938, to JW and Edna Mae Smith.  Her family relocated to Wilmar, AR and Jimmie graduated from Wilmar High School in 1956.

Jimmie was preceded in death by her parents, three half-sisters, Tressie, Irma, and Bertha Smith, and her beloved husband, Terry Gray.  She is survived by her brother, Wayne (Sandy) Smith, Wilmar, her sons, Russell (Lori) Leggett of Murchison, TX, Myron (Christina) Leggett of Galena, KS, and Damon (Tammy) Leggett of Camden, AR, as well as her stepson, Tony Gray, also of Camden.  Jimmie loved her boys, her 13 grandchildren, and 10 (soon to be 11) great-grandchildren.

Over the years, Jimmie worked at BEI, General Dynamics, and Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in East Camden and built many friendships among her co-workers.  She was a long-time member of - and dedicated servant at - Calvary Baptist Church in East Camden.  Terry was a Gideon and Jimmie found great joy for many years serving alongside him as a member of the Gideons Auxiliary.  In more recent years, Jimmie called Elliott Baptist Church in Camden her home.

Among other things, Jimmie will certainly be remembered for her faith in the Lord, her beautiful red hair, her love of butterflies and of all things blue.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the loving care Jimmie received at National Park Medical Center and through Gentiva Hospice, both in Hot Springs.

Visitation will be at Elliott Baptist Church in Elliott, AR starting at 9:30 AM on Friday, August 15, 2025.  A memorial service, facilitated by Bro. Ty Boyett will follow at 10:00.  The family will hold a private burial at Green Hill Cemetery in Wilmar later that day.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Gideons Auxiliary or to the Flower Fund at Elliott Baptist Church in Jimmie's memory.
