Jason Dallas Tarp, 49, of Bentonville, Arkansas, died on Friday March 29, 2024. He was born on April 8, 1974, in Omaha, Nebraska at the Offutt Air Force Base to Dallas and Linda Tarp. Jason graduated from Camden-Fairview High School with honors in 1992 and lettered in tennis and football. He also competed on the swim team. After high school he went on to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and finished his degree in Nursing at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.
For 24 years, Jason worked as an RN as a valued member of the medical community. Many of his colleagues attributed Jason with saving countless lives due to his expertise, critical thinking, and steady composure under pressure. In 2011, Jason was chosen as part of the medical staff to travel with US Air flight 9025. It was the Senator Bob Dole honor flight which transported WW2 veterans to Washington, DC to visit their wall. He worked tireless hours during the Covid pandemic in the ICU and the CVICU. He was certified in ACLS, BLS, and NIHS. In addition, he was trained in and managed ECMO patients.
Early in life, at only 17 years of age, Jason achieved his private pilots license. Later, he and his dad received their scuba certification. He then went on to get an advanced certification to become a search and rescue diver. This allowed him to be involved with several rescue missions.
In his free time, he enjoyed cooking, especially for his kids, riding his Harley, and spending time with his grandkids.
Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Tarp of Camden, AR. His grandparents, Bill and Betty Williams and T.C and V. Otis Tarp. He is survived by his father, Dallas Tarp of Branson, MO, sister Jill Hanson (Jeremy) of Vilonia, AR; two daughters Hailey Kelly (Brian) of Temple, TX; Ashlyn Tarp (Nathan) of Bentonville, AR; and one son Hudson Tarp of Bentonville, AR, three grandchildren Ava Kelly, Kamryn Carter, Luke Kelly and one grandbaby on the way. And three nephews Paxton Goza, Colton and Cooper Hanson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Westfield Funeral Chapel, 3236 W. Huntsville Ave. Springdale, AR 72762. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00am. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 4th at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, AR, a visitation will be held before the graveside at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden at 12 noon.
