Jane Strickland was born on Sept 25, 1946, to Robert Samuel McAdoo and Viva McAdoo. She gained her heavenly wings on April 6, 2024.

She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Joe Terry Strickland, her sister, Amelia Ann McAdoo, and her nephew Johnny Duggar.

Jane is survived by her brother Robert "Robbie" McAdoo and wife Angie, nephew Tyler McAdoo and wife Brittany, great nephews Hayden Crawford and Hudson McAdoo and great niece Kenslee Crawford. She is also survived by two uncles, Larry Vaughan and Calvin Vaughan and Aunt Margaret "Monkey" Thomas along with many cousins who she dearly loved.

Jane was a 1964 graduate of Camden High School. She retired from Camden Fairview School after teaching Business classes for 35 years. She was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught the JOY Sunday School class and was active in the Operation Christmas Child ministry which she worked on all year long. Jane had a true servant's heart and her kindness and compassion touched countless lives.  After her retirement she spent many days driving church and family members to doctor appointments out of town. Jane was very active in the Women of Calvary and also enjoyed singing in the choir.  She coordinated the bus ministry on Wednesday nights and for Vacation Bible School which brought children and youth from the community to the Church. Jane traveled on many youth mission trips and often cooked the meals for the youth and chaperones. Jane's volunteer efforts extended into her community where she served on the East Camden Fire Dept Auxiliary and volunteered at countless fundraisers for the Fire Department. Over the years she helped cook meals for Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief ministry which traveled across many states to help those in their greatest time of need. Never without a project, Jane loved to sew and make quilts. She enjoyed being a member of the Quilter's Club and took great pride in the quilts she made. Being a widow herself, Jane loved being involved in the Widow Secret Pal Ministry at Calvary. She joyfully gave her secret pal a quilt she'd made each year as her thank you gift. She loved spending hours at her sewing machine making little dresses for the shoebox ministry.

Jane's family was very special to her, and she made sure they knew they were loved.  Having family together brought her great joy.  She coordinated the holiday get togethers whether it was the annual 4th of July celebrations at Brushy Creek or Thanksgiving, if Jane was in charge, you could rest assured there would be good food and a good time would be had by all.  Jane looked forward to camping with family at Brushy Creek every year. She loved the water and swam all year long with her friends at water aerobics. Jane lived her life for the Lord and leaves an incredible legacy for all of us to follow.

Visitation will be 1:00-3:00PM Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 3:00PM at Calvary Baptist Church. The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Bro. Don Phillips will officiate the service. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements..
