Obituary

James M. Weaver was born on January 20, 1947, to Callie and McKinley Weaver in Buffalo, New York.  He later relocated to Camden, Arkansas, where he established his home.

He was preceded in death by his father, McKinley Weaver, his mother, Callie Weaver, his aunt, Lulu Weaver, and his daughter, Tamika Weaver Jones.

He was a proud alumnus of Lincoln High School, graduating in the class of 1964.  He became a member of Bethel AME Church at a young age and subsequently joined Shiloh Baptist Church.  He married Reatha Blair, and from this union, two children were born: James Keith and Tamika.

His professional career included employment at Pace Company, Camden Monument, Transit Tank, and Reynolds Oil Company, and he also served in the Vietnam War.  He had a passion for fishing and playing baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Reatha Weaver; a son, James Keith Weaver; a sister, Sudie Jackson; five grandchildren; two nephews, Bernard Jackson (Gale) and James Jackson; a niece, Callie Langley (Isaac); and multitude of relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Proctor Funeral Home with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.
