James A. Quarles passed away on May 21, 2026. James, born December 17, 1954, is the son of James M. Quarles and Toshiko Koriyama Quarles; brother to William D. Quarles (Cindy), Tommy Quarles, Karen Quarles Barker (Joe), and Shirley Quarles Haney (Charlie); father to Allison Quarles Hutson; grandfather to Brieana Hutson; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

James was a US Army veteran, receiving several commendations in service to his country. In his military career he was proudest to serve as crew chief on UH-1 Huey helicopters. He was buried next to his parents at Mt. Horeb Cemetery on May 26, 2026.
