James Wilbur Johnson, Jr., known also as Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo, or Juice, passed away on August 14, 2024, at the age of 75, surrounded by the loving comfort of his wife and son. Born on December 15, 1948, in Camden, AR, he was a wonderful man and loved by so many. Jim served in the U.S. Army Reserves, was a professional musician/guitarist and respected Metrologist/Quality Engineer in the local defense industry. His guitar playing was the stuff of legend, enjoyed by countless people from South Arkansas to Alberta Canada. He was a mentor to many, both in his extensive knowledge of music and his profession. When not on stage or in the office, he enjoyed fishing, river trips, sharing stories from his time on the road and eating mudbugs.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Amy Gail Johnson of 25 years, and his son, Witt Johnson of whom he was immensely proud. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Susan Stone and husband Pete of Converse, LA, two nieces Hayley DeGraaf and Hollye Garner, and a host of family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Johnson, his father, James Wilbur Johnson, Sr., and many close friends and band mates.

A service to honor Jim's life will be held at Proctor Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. The ceremony will include a 30-minute visitation followed by a service. After the service, extended visitation will continue at the Post Master's Grill until 5:00 PM, where friends and family can share memories and celebrate Jim's life.
