James M. "Jimmy" Purifoy, 70, of Camden, AR, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Camden, AR.  As a consummate outdoorsman, he spent as much time as possible hunting, fishing, and simply enjoying the day with his family and close friends.  Jimmy had broad background of skills he achieved in his life but is known as a master welder who helped shape the art of the possible for materials and techniques as well as sharing this passion with any who showed interest and talent.  If you ever ventured beyond the shy smile and demeanor, you had a friend for life and knew the depths of his love for his family and those closest to him.  The family most remembers the things that brought him joy such as receiving gifts (particularly chocolate), playing with the children no matter how silly, and his love of all animals.

He is preceded by his parents Marshall " Buck" and Dorthy (Robertson) Purifoy; sisters Linda Meeks, Carolyn Dunn, Marsha Garrett, and Donna Crain; his brother Johnny; his daughter Tammy Lee, and son Jamie Purifoy.  He is survived by his wife Theresa (Green) of 37 years; sisters Alice Shuff and Phyllis Hollis; brothers Lucky Purifoy and Donald Purifoy; daughters, Christel (Kenneth) Kelly, Amy (Scott) Launius, Robin Purifoy, and Karissa Purifoy; grandchildren Caleb (Selena) Lee, Star Launius, Julie Launius, Katie Lee, William Purifoy, Kristina (Rylan) Turner, Laila Purifoy, and James Purifoy; and great grandchildren Randee Lee, Evie Lee, Luna Lee, Grayson Turner, and Roselyn Turner.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30PM Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Lakeside Cemetery.
