James Edwin "Jim" Whitley, age 71, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, February 04, 2026. He was born on July 13, 1954, and grew up in El Dorado, Arkansas, where he graduated from El Dorado High School.

Jim was a no-nonsense, hardworking man who believed deeply in showing up, putting in the effort, and doing right by people. He worked tirelessly throughout his career and spent his professional life building relationships and earning respect wherever he went. Prior to his retirement, Jim served as President and CEO of SouthernCarlson, where he was known for his strong leadership, dedication, and the genuine way he connected with others. Jim never knew a stranger and was loved by most who had the privilege of meeting him.

Above all else, Jim cherished his family. He loved spending time with those closest to him and found joy in the simple things—fishing, hunting, and being outdoors, especially when it meant sharing those moments with family.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Rhonda Whitley, and by his two sons, Tyler Whitley and Jamie Whitley.

He is survived by his sons, Courtney Whitley and Aidyn Whitley; and by his four beloved grandchildren, Zach Whitley, Averie Whitley, Addi Whitley, and Rhonda Whitley, who were a great source of pride and joy in his life.

Jim will be remembered for his strong work ethic, straightforward nature, and the lasting impression he left on his family and all who knew him.

Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2026 from 5:00 - 8:00PM at Proctor Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be 11:00AM Saturday, February 14, 2026 with additional visitation starting at 9:30AM before service at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
