James Allen Smith, 58, passed away on June 29, 2026. James was born on January 17, 1968, in Houston TX, to Harley Allen and Margaret Broach Smith. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1986. He has worked as a driver/Service center supervisor for Fed EX, a warehouse supervisor for Steel Deals, as an assistant store manager for Freds, a sheriff deputy/detention officer, and a truck driver. He was a member of Chidester Baptist Church. James enjoyed Hunting and the outdoors. He enjoyed working and riding motorcycles and hot rods. He liked working for Law enforcement. He loved to cook. His favorite thing to do was spending time with family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Allen and Margaret Broach Smith. He is survived by his two sons, Christopher Smith and Jonathon Smith and his wife, Casey both of Crossett, AR; two brothers, Ernest Smith and his wife, Jane Marie of Camden, AR and Joseph Smith of Chidester, AR; his sister, Patricia Chambers and her husband, Charles of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, James Smith, Jasmen Smith, and Scarlett Abernathey; aunts and uncles, Don Broach and his wife, Gladys of Little Rock, AR, Delby Broach Schlafman and her husband, Ralph of Little Rock, AR, Sheila Counihan and her husband, Jack of Rogers, AR, and Frances Mckenzie and her husband, Mike of Sugarland, TX; three nephews, Stephen Smith, Mark Allen Smith, and Patrick Chambers; three nieces,  Zoey Smith, Dominque Chambers and Ashley Paavola and her husband, Chris; numerous cousins; and a host of family and friends.

A memorial service will take place at Proctor Funeral Home on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00AM.
