Homer Dee Purifoy, age 70 of Camden, AR passed from this life to his eternal home on Friday, October 21, 2022. He was born on February 9, 1952, to the late Woodrow Wilson, Sr. and Dora Frances Purifoy of Camden. Along with his parents, he is proceeded in death by two brothers, Jimmie Purifoy, Woodrow Wilson Purifoy Jr. and one sister Jessie Ever Purifoy. Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life of 50 years Addie "Tippy" Purifoy, his children, Joyce Tillery (Jody) of Camden, Jennifer Wagoner (Tony) of Bearden, Dottie Gammill of Camden, Nathan Purifoy (Amanda) of Camden, Frances Williams (Derek) of Camden, grandchildren Jessica Murphy (Shawn) of Bearden, Elizabeth Stringfellow, Jacob Stringfellow, Justin Tillery, Madison Williams, Jodi Tillery, and Kaitlyn Williams all of Camden, two great-grandchildren Noel and Autumn Murphy of Bearden, one sister Myretha Johnson of Camden, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, church family, friends and furbabies.
Homer loved the Lord, his family and his furbabies (Millie, Dash, Lena, Sadie, Bean, Jasper). He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Eagle Mills where he had a passion to serve his Lord and Savior. Homer was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association where he served as Chapter Vice President. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Homer retired from Harmony Grove High School where he was bus mechanic for over 30 years. He was the former Assistant Chief and volunteer of the Ouachita County Fire District #1. He was fascinated with cars, and trucks, especially antiques and motorcycles. He found pleasure in spending time with his family, serving God, tinkering and helping others. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent his time camping, fishing, and doing God's work through missions, other outreach programs or just being the hands and feet of Jesus.
The family would like to thank the community and members of FBC Eagle Mills for all the love and support shown during the recent loss of his brother and continued outpouring love, prayers, and kind words in our time of sorrow. Visitation will be at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, Tuesday, October 25, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be held at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. and will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Camden. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to FBC Eagle Mills Youth and Childrens fund. Arrangements made by Proctor Funeral Home in Camden.
