Gerald Glinn Keith, 96, of Camden, passed away December 31, 2023 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden, AR. He was born May 19, 1927, in Camden, AR to C.S. and Rena Gilder Keith. Gerald was a WWII Veteran having served in the Navy aboard the USS Boston. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Al Rose Sunday School class, a member of the Ouachita and Calhoun County Genealogy Society, the Ouachita County Historical Society, a founding member of the Camden Bass Club, the past President of the Young Democrats, a member of the Camden Jaycees and a former employee of Camark Pottery. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and traveling with his wife across the U.S. and Canada. He enjoyed history and especially that of Ouachita Co. He authored several books, including one on Camark Pottery and one on the history of early schools of Ouachita Co. He was looking forward to this Spring and the time he could again plant his garden. His yearly garden was his what enjoyed the most. He got great pleasure from gardening and giving his produce to friends and family. In addition to his vegetables, he always made sure to plant Zinnia flowers to provide fresh bouquets to the church every week. Until his sight began to fail, he visited his friends in the local nursing homes every Sunday after church. He would take books, flowers, or magazines to his friends he was visiting that were residents. But he mostly just enjoyed visiting and reminiscing with those friends. He was loved by so many, and his loss will leave a void with everyone that knew and loved him.
