George Cleve Carroll, 86 of Camden, AR passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026. He was born September 24, 1939, to Allie Coates Carroll and L J Carroll in Malvern, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife Elva Cloteen Carroll, to whom he was married for 43 years; and his sister, Judy Lynn Borchert. He is survived by his daughter Shelley Ray and her husband Nick Ray, son Brad Carroll, and his grandchildren Julia Prado, Alex Prado, Zoe Zimmerman, and Pax Carroll.

George's family moved around the state in his early years, then settled in Camden, where he graduated from Fairview High School. He attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He worked at International Paper in Camden until it closed, then worked as an engineering consultant for GBMc & Associates at several locations in Arkansas.

George suffered a stroke in 2023, and moved in with his daughter Shelley in El Dorado. His speech and cognitive functioning were not impaired, and he could walk with the aid of a walker. He was well taken care of.

As a young man George was fond of cars and airplanes, and occasionally flew them in East Camden. He was known by many throughout his life for his kindness, smart sense of humor, and ability to remain calm through virtually every circumstance. He delighted in his children and his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed.

Funeral service will be 2:00PM Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Proctor Funeral Home with Pastor Chester Passmore officiating.  Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.
