George Allen Bates, 72, of Camden, peacefully departed this life on November 18, 2025, at his home. He was a graduate of the 1971 Class at Fairview High School. He enjoyed relaxing and watching westerns. George had a big heart, and everyone called him "Pops". He enjoyed life and he never met a stranger. He will be missed by those who had the privilege to know him.

He is preceded by, his significant other, Glenda Stroud, his parents, James and Alberta Bates, three brothers, John F. Porchia, Dave Ware, and James Nettles, and two sisters, Barbara Childs and Deverna Cummings.

George is survived by his Son, George Bates and  wife Bree of Leola, AR, one sister, Alena Key and a Niece Keshia Howard, both of Camden, his grandchildren, Tre, Aurbraeanna, Demetrious, Amia, and Trinity, and his great-grandchildren, Carson, Conner, Ivy, Demetrious Jr., and Trinity, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden followed by a Chapel Service at 2:00, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Camden.
