Obituary

Gary Delaney, 77, of Stephens, AR passed away on August 2, 2024.

Gary was a graduate of Wynona School in Wynona, Ok. He served in the U S Army from 1966 to 1968 at Ft Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. He worked for his Dad in the oilfields of Oklahoma when he younger. He was a member of the American Welders Society. He was a certified welder and worked in many States and Aruba as a CWI inspector. Gary was born January 1, 1947, in Pawhuska, Ok to the late Weldon & Emma Lou Delaney.

He is proceeded in death by his mother Emma Lou Delaney of and Father Weldon V. Delaney Sr nieces — Mindy Delaney Sellers, Shawna Williamson Bevins and a nephew Garret Martin and Johnathan Delaney, brother-in-law Larry Cheatham.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maye Delaney, a daughter Kimberly (Kelly) & (Sam) Ross of Greenbriar, AR, a son Glenn (Adriane) Delaney of Stephens, grandsons; Julian Cheatham of Stephens, Jake Cheatham and wife Madi of Greenbriar, Ty and Hastin Delaney of Stephens, twin granddaughters Emma Joe Ross and Delaney Brooke Ross of Greenbriar, Great grandchildren, Whitley Jo Center & Rhett Sloan Gillean, special friends Mike & Carol Carter of Stephens, two brothers Weldon V. Delaney (Dusty) & wife Lola of Farmington, New Mexico and Michael John Delaney & wife Janice of Oklahoma and a numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and a host of friends.

He was a member of the Ark La Tex Roadrunners Car & Truck Club and President of the Stephens Cemetery. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandkids & great grand kids who call him Pops.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 5, 2024, 5:00-8:00 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Julian Cheatham, Jake Cheatham, Ty Delaney, Hastin Delaney, Glenn Delaney, Sam Ross. Honorary pallbearers Allen Cheatham & Mike Carter.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Stephens Cemetery Association or charity of your choice.
