Let's get a little more down to earth about Freida.

Who is this lady? She is known as Mama, Mom, Nanny (also spelled 'Nannie' to some), Sister, Auntie, Cuz, and friend. She is known in heaven as wife, friend, Ms. Freida, daughter, but right now mostly as "Beloved" by her Heavenly Father.

As Mama, she loved and loved and loved – when it was hard and when it was easy, when we were good and bad, when we were inconsiderate and when we were kind. In all cases, as a mama, she loved without end. And she dedicated her life to caring for and loving Given! Most of all we value and appreciate the raising as it was done mostly alone as a 'Truckers Wife', we look back and will be forever grateful for the tough love she raised us on EXCEPT Given, she didn't get the tough love or those LONG TALKS .

As Mom, she was a friend and an engaged listener in every conversation. She was an encourager and supporter of all new endeavors. She happened to be a cheerleader in school, and that lived on in her as a mom. Her ear was always available.

As Nanny(ie), she was so proud of her Charlie boy, her Angel Girl (Hannah), her Big Un (Jesse), and her Cowboy (Grant). She treasured every minute of a visit or conversation, and she always had a fresh pot of coffee ready for their talks. She loved each one individually and made them all feel known. There was no knocking at her house. They were always welcome to just come on in. Her great grandkids were so special to her, as well. She just adored them and wanted to know all about them; it blessed her soul to be able to keep Emmett Chuck, their favorite thing was searching for worms. She loved to teach new things to the kids! As an example, she taught all the kids southern manners with the saying, "Yes mam', No mam', thank you mam' please, if you can't say that then don't talk to me."

As Sister, she loved all three sisters and treasured their time together and their talks. The four of them had a strong bond, and any time they were together, whether one on one or all four, you would hear much laughter. She valued each unique connection, and they were a joyful and comforting presence in her life.

As a Friend, she had so many – some for seasons of her life and others for her whole life. Friends were near and dear to her heart. She was the kind of friend that would give you the shirt off her back or the last dollar to her name if she thought it would help. She would often try to help even beyond her means. She has gone to great extents to help some friends, from starting businesses to pulling others out of dreadful situations. She has been that shoulder to cry on, and that encourager needed to help keep a friend going and get them through. She would never forsake a friend in need.

She is known, as well, as 'The Truckdriver's Wife.' She was the woman behind the man behind the wheel. He always wanted to be a little early and she was always a little late. She lived by the golden rule of a trucker's wife, "no news is good news." One of her great qualities was her hospitality. She would always welcome Gene's trucker friends that needed a little help along the way. It was always "Gene & Freida." She helped start, build, and operate Double G Trucking. She's had many titles and responsibilities in her working career; however, she would rather be known as 'The Truckdriver's Wife' –the woman behind the man behind the wheel. She loved her truckin' man! And she was so proud to be his wife. He did make it to heaven a little early, and she was a little later, but they both ended up there together after all.

She was a lady that loved deeply, enjoyed conversation and visiting, had witty sayings and comebacks, extended forgiveness, held her tongue at difficult times (most times), was tough as boot leather, would not back down from a fight if it involved her family or friend. She was resourceful, imaginative – always thinking about another way of doing something, organized – everything had to be in its place, or it bothered her, and she loved to write and express herself in notes, cards, poems, and songs. She approached life with a welcoming spirit and never failed to extend kindness to everyone she met. Her generosity was beyond measure. And she was the kind of person who wanted to be loved in return, but she never required it to continue to give it. Her faith in and love for the Lord Jesus Christ was her strength, her source of love and the pure joy of her heart. She looked for the day she would be with Him, and now her journey is complete and her longing fulfilled.

Freida penned the following message for all of you:

To those I have done wrong - I ask forgiveness

To those I may have helped - I wish I did more

To those I neglected to help - I ask for understanding

To those who helped me – I sincerely Thank You So Much.
