Frances Milrene Wood, 86, of Sheridan, AR, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2022 at St. John Place, Fordyce, AR. She was born May 15, 1935 in Sparkman, AR. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Frances Holmes Wages. She attended Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, avid bowler, served as Mayor and Fire Chief of Tinsman, AR, active in getting the water association started in Tinsman, AR, Hampton School Bus Driver, played softball at the old Tinsman Softball Field and she loved her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Frances Holmes Wages; husband, Robert Wood; son, Garry Wood; three brothers, James Wages, Elliott Wages and Edward Wages; sister, Happy Wages.

She is survived by her daughter, Deloise Porterfield and husband, Robert of Sheridan, AR; daughter, Mary Bassetti and husband, Bob of Tinsman, AR; daughter-in-law, Jane Wood of Hampton, AR; brother, Larry Wages and wife, Carolyn of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Kristine Bassetti, Kevin Bassetti and wife, Renaee, Garry Porterfield and wife, Chessica, Mindy Myers and husband, David, Jonathan Wood and wife, Amy Jo; seven great-grandchildren; host of family, friends and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Friday, May 6, 2022 at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery, Pine Grove, AR. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
