Ellen Lowery, 90, died February 11, 2023.  She was born August 13, 1932 in Camden, AR to Buel and Hattie Swartz.  Ellen was a member of Timothy Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Lowery; three sisters, Bertye Guessner, Ruby Vernon and Ella Mae Teague and two brothers, Jack McDonald and Coy Swartz; one son, Steve Lowery.  She is survived by her daughter, Teri Lowery (Priscilla Canfield); three grandchildren, Brandon Garrett, Josh Lowery and Sean Lowery along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ellen was a lifelong resident of the Camden area.  After graduating from Fairview High in 1951 she joined the U.S. Air Force Ground Observer Corps.  This led to her many adventures and making great memories.   One of her best memories was flying in a cargo plane. She was an avid rock collector, gardener, and loved working in her yard.  She loved creating things with her hands, including many wood carvings.

Ellen loved her family and extended family.  She would entertain them for hours with stories of her childhood.  She appreciated growing up in the "good old days" with the "old ways."
