Eli Anthony Mercy, affectionately known as Butch, went to be with the lord on May 31, 2025. He was born on February 11, 1953, in New Underwood, South Dakota to Frank and Patsy Mercy.

Butch is preceded in death by his father, Frank Mercy; son, Allen Mercy; brother, Jim Mercy; brother, Joe Mercy; and stepson, Tom Livingston.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Mercy; son, Anthony Mercy; son, Graham Mercy and wife Jennifer; daughter, Sheila Mercy; step-son, Steve Livingston; step-daughter, Becky Vance, grandchildren: Makenlee Kimbrough, Jacob Deadman, Eli Mercy, Ocean Mercy, Tyson Mercy, Ricky Jones, Ethan Jones, Ava Vance, Alex Vance, Jamie Livingston, Samantha Livingston; great-granddaughter, Leelanni Thompson; mother, Patsy Mercy; sister, Terry Kiefer; sister, Diana Birch; brother, Martin Mercy; brother, Tim Mercy; as well as many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Butch was known as a jack of all trades. He loved spending time in his garage working on anything and everything. Butch enjoyed a game of pool, a round of golf, anything Mopar or Harley. Butch loved spending time with his family and friends, especially on hump day. Butch was an amazing husband, dad, grandpa, brother, neighbor, and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Proctor Funeral Home. A graveside service will be on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 10:00 A.M.  at Mt. Horeb Cemetery.
