Obituary

Eleanor Patricia Jordan

July 21,1939 - October 24, 2026

Eleanor (known as “Miss Ellie” to many) went peacefully into the arms of her Savior while at her home after a lengthy illness. Her husband and Jesus were holding her hands while her favorite Gospel music was playing. She’s in Heaven because she put her faith in the Lord Jesus

Christ many years ago at FBC of Dodge, TX.

Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, John Roger Egan and Dorothy Marie Sigma.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Walter Earl Jordan of Stephens, AR and three sons: Charles Donald Atkins of Quincy, MA, Leonard Roger Atkins of Ocala, FL and Michael Lee Atkins of La Pine, OR. She leaves many siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren and in-laws and will be greatly missed!

Eleanor was a nurse for several years and helped many people with a heart of compassion. She was a Proverbs 31 woman as she was a great wife, mother, homemaker and business woman. She was a faithful member of FBC of Stephens for over 20 years, then a member of Bible Baptist Church in El Dorado for a year. She listened to the services via YouTube and loved to hear her pastor preach and enjoyed the music. She was happy when they got visits from the pastor and church members. Eleanor was known in the community for many years as “The Avon Lady” and the director of the Outreach Center. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and mowing while she was able. Then her favorite thing was listening to Christian music and looking at photos on her phone. Our Miss Ellie is gone for now, but we’ll see her again if we’ve trusted in Jesus as our Savior.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 1pm at Bible Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Austin Owens Building Fund at BBC.
