Edgar Maurice House, born June 14, 1932, in Holly Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, after a long, rich, and full life of love and devotion to his family and his community. His family was his pride and joy, and that devotion remained at the heart of the life he lived.

Ed grew up in Holly Springs with an 8th grade education. He served in the United States Army and during his career he served 32 years in The International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers as Union boss and Vice-president. He was well respected among his colleagues.

Ed will be remembered as a man whose life was centered on love. He had a large capacity to love. He never met a stranger and he loved people. It has been said of Ed that he would pick more people up off the street and add them to his family if he could. He loved all children and was always giving children money wherever he went. Ed leaves this legacy of loving others like Jesus did. Ed loved eating at Wood's, and he did not think he had eaten until he had a meal at Wood's. He ate there every day, and he hosted others at any opportunity with a meal at Wood's. Ed loved life and loved sharing time and meals with others.

He was preceded in death by his son, Cliff House; his parents, James Claude House and Lura Adelle Flood House; brothers and sisters, Emmett, Chet, Cotton, Adelle, and Ann; granddaughter, Kacy; and several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie House; his sons, Mark & Tammy House, Doug House, Chuck & Rita Lindsey; daughter, Monica & Alan Lockhart; and his daughter by choice, Susan & Herren Hickingbotham; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who he cherished and adored.

As those who knew and loved Edgar Maurice House remember him, they will hold close the example of a life devoted to family, love, and enduring connection. His devotion to his family and others was a testament to his deeply generous and selfless spirit. His memory will remain a cherished blessing to all who carry him in their hearts.
