Earnestine Tate made her transition from this world on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Earnestine was born June 14, 1945 to David Douglas and Eular Beard, in Chidester AR. She joined Rocky Hill C.O.G.I.C at an early age, in August 1963 she married Franklin Tate and joined Union A.M.E. church where she served faithfully until they could no longer meet due to the Covid pandemic. Out of the marriage union two sons were born, Franklin Tate, Jr. & Kevin Tate.
Earnestine was a homemaker and helped raise many from the community. She loved to cook as well as decorate (interior, exterior). She was a green thumb and loved to grow various types of plants and flowers. In her younger years she loved to fish, and spend time with family. She was active in the church, serving as an Usher, Sunday School dept., and was an Announcing Clerk. After the passing of her husband, she faithfully served at her son's church New Beginnings Deliverance Church until her health would no longer allow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Tate, Sr.; her parents, David Douglas and Eular Beard; siblings, M.C. Williams, Lacie Mae Douglas, Eva Miles, & David Douglas, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Ossie Douglas of Chidester, AR and Brenda Douglas of Camden AR; her two sons, Franklin Tate, Jr. of Allen, TX and Kevin Tate (Charity) of Camden, AR; one granddaughter, Cheyenne Tate of Germany; four grandsons, Kevin Tate, Jr., Elijah Tate (Traonia), Caleb Tate and Braylon Tate all of Camden, AR; two great grandsons, Noah Daniel Jungton of Germany and Mason Tate of El Dorado, AR and a host nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Rocky Hill COGIC with Kevin Tate officiating. Burial will be in Dick Tate Cemetery in Chidester, AR. Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 7:00PM Friday at Proctor Funeral Home.
