Our beloved Mother, Grandmama, and friend, Dorothy Buck Everett of Camden, went to her heavenly home Friday, June 12, 2026. Dorothy (Dot) was born in Ouachita (Dallas County, Arkansas) to William Joseph Buck and Dona Wiggins Buck Ross on May 31, 1929.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and much loved step-father, J. H. Ross of Fordyce, her husband of fifty-seven years, Kenneth Everett, her brothers: Eddie Buck, Bennie Buck, Ernest Buck, W. J. Buck, and Kennith Buck, and her sisters: Hazel Jestice, Allene Ardalino, Marguerite Nutt Bell, infant Varniece, Edith Brown, and Joyce Holmes Richart.

She is survived by her children: Donna Dortch (Miche) of North Little Rock, Diane Green (Jim) of Camden, Keith Everett (Janet) of El Dorado, Deedra Ashcraft (Gary) of Springdale, one brother, Richard Buck (Mary Nelle) of Radford, Virginia, seven grand-children, six great-grand-children, and a number of special nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a graduate of Fordyce High School, a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a former Girl Scout leader. Through the years, she was employed by Tri-State Mill Supply Company, Camden Furniture Company, and the Camden-Fairview School District, from which she retired. After retirement, along with Bill Bacon, Shirley Bufkin, and Sarah Shirey, she became known for her work with estate sales.

Very much the matriarch of her family, Dorothy was always looking for ways to brighten the lives of her friends and relatives. She planned and helped execute a number of Buck Family reunions, which were well attended by 100 to 150 relatives, and she delighted in sending birthday cards, letters, and gifts to the many people she knew locally and throughout the United States. She cherished the kind phone calls, notes, and cards she received from her treasured friends and relatives, especially as she became older and more homebound.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, her strong work ethic, her love for her friends and her loving devotion to her family.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Proctor Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
