Doris Ellen Grissom, 88 of Louann, AR passed away February 3, 2023 in Prattsville, AR while living with her daughter, Sherry Freeman.

She was a Justice of the Peace on the Quorum Court until her illness progressed. She owned a grocery store in Elliott for many years. Where many friends in Elliott would visit daily. She is a longtime member of Elliott Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Gardner Nix and Otis Nix; her husband, Edward Earl Grissom, Sr.; two brothers, Johnny Nix and Robert Nix; and one daughter, Cynthia Elaine Grissom.

She is survived by her son, Edward Earl Grissom, Jr. (Eddie); and two daughters, Sharon Doris Freeman (Larry) and Pamela Kaye Carver (Paul); two sisters, Carolyn Harcrow and Frances Cross; as well as her grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association or to Gideon's International.
