Donald Eugene Venable, 84, passed away August 26, 2025 at his home in Camden surrounded by his family and his loving wife of 62 years. His family admired his skills as an avid hunter and fisherman. He was greatly known for his love of hunting and fishing and his family praises him for his excellence as a husband and being a great daddy. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior early in life and was faithful for his entire life. He attended regularly at Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Don was born to the late Frank and Rena (Peace) Venable He was the 4th child out of 5 kids. Don graduated from Fairview High School in 1960 and shortly after graduation he met and fell head over heels for his future wife Terrie Moulder who had just moved here from Denver Colorado with her parents. Don found employment at Gilchrist Bag Company where he worked tirelessly for 36 years.
Don had a love of the outdoors. He was an outdoor enthusiast. He started commercial fishing for extra income as he sold his fresh or frozen fish to the locals around Camden for many many years. He was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting whitetail deer, squirrels and turkeys. He was always either in the woods or on the water when he was not at Gilchrist. He gave his children a good understanding of living off the land and values that were unmistakable. Don loved his wife and kids and was a great husband and father, one like no other.
Don is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Rena Venable; son; David Todd Venable. Brothers, John (Sue) Venable, and Morris (Elizabeth) Venable, both of Camden. Sisters; Linda Harrison of Camden, and Vernelle (Ernest) Lawler of Phoenix AZ. A nephew; Frank Venable of Camden and great-nephew Tim Knowles of Harrison Ar.
Don leaves behind his wife of 62 years Terrie Venable of Camden. His sons; Sam Venable (Lynne), and Jamie Venable (Joy) of Camden and his daughter Wendy Hausman of Camden. Grandchildren; Lydia (David) Hurst, Tymathea Venable, Blake (Aura) Freeman, Anthony Hausman. Michael (Jackie) Venable of Conway, Brady (Tory) Venable of Tyler TX Emily (Bryce) Jerry of Magnolia AR. Great-Grandchildren Halyn, Daren, Sammy J Hurst; Aeron and Leo Freeman; Autumn and Jacob Venable. Brother-in-law, Merle Harrison. Numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Sunday, August 31 at 2:00 pm at Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm there at the church. Burial will follow in the Bethesda Cemetery.
