Life Journey

Dennis W. Smith began his life journey on April 16, 1957, to Bennie Smith Sr. and Lee Ester Hunter Smith. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday February 03, 2024. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the City of Refuge Church of the Apostolic Faith under the Leadership of Pastor Benfadine Cribbs. He attended Harmony Grove High School. He married the love of his life Helen Francis Isom and to this union seven children were born. Those awaiting his arrival, one son, Timothy O'Brian Smith (1992), one grandson, Dennis Harris (2023), his parents Bennie Smith Sr. and Lee Ester Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Derrick Smith of Dewitt, Arkansas, Anthony Smith of Atlanta Georgia, Courtney Smith of Texarkana, Texas, Dennis B. Smith (Annie) of Moore, Oklahoma; two daughters, April Smith Harris (Jamesell Harris) of Texarkana, Texas and Lamario Smith of Grand Junction, Colorado; grandson, Derrion Smith of Camden, Arkansas and granddaughter, Janiya Harris of Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Loretta Smith-Parham of Camden, Arkansas; and three brothers, Larry Smith, Bennie Smith Jr. and Glen Smith all of Camden, Arkansas; aunts, Louise Henry of Camden, Arkansas and Dorothy Charles of San Diego, California; host of nieces, nephews, along with friends and family whom he worked with for over forty years at Ouachita County Shop.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, February 09, 2024 at Proctor Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Greater New Calvary Baptist Church of God in Christ with burial in Eternal Rest Cemetery.
