Deborah Sue Dorris Autrey, 68, of Stephens, lovingly known as Debbie Sue, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the heart of her family. When you walked through her door, you could expect a hug, a kiss on the cheek, and I love you, and almost certainly the question, ‘Have you eaten?’ She celebrated the people she loved. She knew the little things that made each person feel special and important. And she didn’t just love her own children and grandchildren. More children called her Mama or Mamaw than could ever be named. She made people feel like family, not just in words, but in action. More than anything, Debbie wanted people to know Jesus. Her faith was woven into the way she lived, loved, welcomed, and cared for others.
Welcoming her into heaven were her parents, Dan and Ethel Pearl Johnson Dorris, her sister, Cathey Chambliss and grandson Zane Autrey.
She is survived by her husband, Allan Lloyd Autrey, her daughters April Jones and husband Erik, Jennifer Milam and husband Shannon, and son Dustin Autrey and wife Lindsey. Grandchildren Kendall Weld and husband Austin, Kohl Jones and wife Abby, Remington (Remi)Autrey, Drake Autrey, Trinity Milam, and Wyatt Autrey. As well as two Great-Grandchildren Georgia & Callahan Weld. She also leaves behind extended family, including nephew Chris Chambliss and his daughter Trisjen, niece Lindsey Feldhaus and nephew Ronnie Cornelius, sisters-in-law, Janie Wilkerson and Ramona Autrey as well as countless others who called her Mama. Her legacy lives on in the people she loved and, in love, she wove so faithfully through generations. As she finished her race, she told her family, “I’ve finished my race now. Y’all carry the torch.” And her family will. Carrying forward her love, her faith, and her example, until we see you again, Debbie Sue.
