Daniel Lee Godwin, 44, passed away peacefully at his home in El Dorado, Arkansas, on January 29, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He is the beloved son of Norman and Kathy (deceased) Godwin, caring husband of Tiffany Godwin, and devoted father of Pearl and Joshua (deceased) Godwin. His death comes following a relapse of the multiple myeloma that he lived with for so many years.

Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sitting around a campfire with his loved ones. He shared his fondness for the outdoors with many, even agreeing to float down the War Eagle Creek with Chuck Dovish to highlight one of Northwest Arkansas's hidden treasures as part of an episode of "Exploring Arkansas" which aired in February of 2013 on Arkansas' PBS station (Sn 9, Ep 2). Pearl is his greatest treasure, and he loved spending time with her playing and swimming on the rock bar at Boiling Pot or sharing their favorite afternoon snack, a Zero bar and Mt. Dew. He and Tiffany took as many opportunities as they could to spend long weekends at the Ouachita River and see Daniel's favorite artist, Sturgill Simpson, in concert.

He felt at home in the woods or on the water and carried a deep appreciation for the natural world, leading him to pursue a career in parks administration after earning his bachelor's degree from Arkansas Tech University. He served as the Assistant Superintendent of Withrow Springs State Park until 2015 when he and Tiffany moved to Texarkana. Once there, he worked with a great group of guys at Gregg Orr Marine until 2023. When the family moved to El Dorado last year, Daniel threw his energy into fixing up their new home, feeding the deer and birds that visited their yard, and soaking up extra time with Pearl and Tiffany.

His short life was full of joy, empathy, and fearlessness. He will be remembered not for how he left this world, but for the impact he had on it while he lived – his bright smile that was so easily shared, his unending positivity, and his playful sense of humor. He never lost his sense of wonder, and when things were particularly hard or the world seemed too heavy, he stepped outside and let the beauty and peace of the outdoors steady him. The world was a better place with him in it and his passing leaves a void for all those lucky enough to call him their husband, daddy, brother, son or friend.

He is preceded in death by his son, Joshua Lee Godwin, his mother, Katherine Godwin, grandparents, Harry and Alice Sommers, and Florence and Eugene Godwin, aunts, Karen Oliver, and Gail Trice. He is survived by his wife, Tiffany Godwin, and their precious daughter, Katherine Pearl Godwin; brother, Matthew Godwin and sister-in-law, Cherity Godwin, father, Norman Godwin, and wife, Kat Godwin, father and mother-in-law, David and Linda Sanders, sister-in-law, Crystal Baker, nephews, Austin and Caleb Baker, and a wealth of friends who he viewed as family. Pallbearers will include Corey Dawe, Ben Goss, Josh Guess, Beau Morgan, Jody O'Hara, Sean Reynolds, Chad Snow, Brad Thomas, and honorary pallbearer, Lucas Caldwell.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Proctor's Funeral Home in Camden, Arkansas, with a private burial to follow. In lieu of sending flowers, the family kindly requests you donate blood, call an old friend and take them out to lunch, or book a trip with your family to one of Arkansas' many wonderful state parks.
