Coy Campbell, 86, formerly of Camden, passed away on April 19, 2022 at home with his family by his side. Coy was born on April 10, 1936 in Lead Hill, Arkansas to Coy and Beulah Campbell. During his youth, Coy lived in Yellville, Arkansas. While in college at Kansas City, he met Earlena Blasdel. The couple married on June 9, 1957 and raised 4 children.

Coy graduated from Finley Engineering College as a Civil Engineer. He spent forty years of his career with the Arkansas State Highway Department. Some of his work was performed at the Little Rock office. In 1966, he moved with his family to Camden where he was the District Engineer at the Highway Department until his retirement in 2002. In his spare time, he loved to fish and hunt. Many funny stories have been told of fishing trips to Mexico and hunting trips out in Colorado. Photography and traveling were also some of his favorite things to do, especially after retiring. His family could always count on him to have his camera out at family gatherings. He was the family photographer! Those pictures are now our family treasures! He enjoyed every chance he got to be with his children and grandchildren. He was the best Dad, Papaw and Pops!

Those left behind to miss him include his loving wife and traveling partner of 65 years, Earlena Campbell of Birmingham, Alabama; two sons, Mark Campbell and wife Traci of Odenville, Alabama and Scott Campbell and wife Sandie of Jackson, Tennessee; a daughter, Joy Barras and husband Paul of Denham Springs, Louisiana; six grandsons, Cody Rawls and wife Melissa of Windsor, Colorado, Jake Rawls of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, John Campbell and wife Terra of Camden, Arkansas, Ashton Campbell of Hampton, Arkansas, Steven Campbell of Odenville, Alabama and Nicholas Campbell of Jackson, Tennessee; a granddaughter, Phoebe Campbell of Jackson, Tennessee and a great granddaughter, Isla Rawls of Windsor, Colorado.

Coy was preceded in death by his parents and a son John David Campbell.

Graveside services will be Saturday April 23, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Camden Memorial Park Cemetery.
