Obituary

Charles Andrew "Chuck" Hutcheson was born May 20, 1933, in Locust Bayou, Arkansas, and opened his eyes in Heaven to his Savior on April 14, 2025. He was born to Charlie Clifton and Rosie May Massey Hutcheson. He was the loving husband to Martha Frances Spells Hutcheson for 72 years before her passing in October 2024. There's was a beautiful story of true love. They were the parents of three beautiful daughters, the grandparents of 15, and great-grandparents of 27.

He was the former engineer for Cam-Tel from its inception before obtaining his master electrician designation. Besides being self-employed as an electrician, he also worked for Evers Electric and retired as the electrical engineer for the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. In addition, he was the electrical technician for several oil companies in the Smackover oil fields. He was the music minister at Temple Baptist Church in Camden, Arkansas, before the calling he valued most at Crossroads Baptist Church in Louann, Arkansas, where he served as pastor for 50 plus years. Of late, he was Pastor Emeritus of Crossroads Baptist Church. He served in the Arkansas Army National Guard before serving 12 years in the US Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran, having been stationed in Hutchinson, Kansas; Texarkana, Arkansas; Rosas, Spain; and then Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, before settling in the Frenchport Community on Ouachita 67. He also served in the Civil Air Patrol as a pilot for several years, earning the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Martha, his sister Mary Hutcheson Neely, and his half-brothers (CK Scott, Arthur Scott, Otis Scott, and Harold Scott). He leaves behind three loving daughters Brenda Hutcheson Fickey of Camden; Kay Hutcheson Brown (John) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Joni Hutcheson Preston of Camden; grandchildren Traci Trembly (Brent) in Vancouver, Washington; Olivia Russell (Jason) in Pueblo, Colorado; Rob Rogers (Evelyn) in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Rachel Neely Cramer in Colorado Springs, Colorado; David Preston, Jr. (Heather) in Huntsville, Arkansas; Hutch Preston (Meghan) in Camden; Cliff Preston (Leslie) in Smackover, Arkansas; and Wayne Burton (Kristi) in Smackover, Arkansas; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of others who claimed him as their "Papa."

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 Wednesday, April 16, 2025.  A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Proctor Funeral Home followed by interment at Mt. Horeb cemetery.
