Carolyn Sue Harrell Johnston, born on June 28, 1949, in Natchez, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She departed this life just days before her 77th birthday, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.

Carolyn was the beloved daughter of Ralph Lewis Harrell and Helen Marie Williams, both of whom preceded her in death. She carried the values instilled by her parents throughout her life, honoring their memory in her words and actions.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Ray Johnston and daughter, Nancy Harris. The passing of her husband and daughter was a profound loss, yet she continued to embody resilience in the years that followed. Carolyn also suffered the heartbreaking loss of her grandchild, Ashland Harris.

She is survived by her brothers, Bill Harrell and wife, JoAnn of Chidester, AR; Robert Charles Harrell of Little Rock, AR; Ken Harrell and wife Debra, of Dallas, TX; daughter, Susan Scott Havens of Bentonville, AR; grandchildren, Olivia Havens Walker, Claire Havens, Mattie Leah Harris, Sarah Beth Harris, and Trenton Harris.

Carolyn's presence enriched the lives of all who knew her, and her gentle spirit will be remembered by friends, neighbors, and family. As we reflect on her life, we honor the many ways she touched the hearts of others, and we give thanks for the years shared with Carolyn Sue Harrell Johnston.
