Carl Lee Tillery, Sr., 97, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024. He was born February 24, 1927, in Malvern, AR. He was the son of the late Walter and Mamie Black Tillery. He was a minister in the Assemblies of God and was a traveling evangelist. He built churches in Carlsbad, NM and Camden and pastored churches in Carlsbad, NM, Alton, IL and Camden, AR and associate pastor at Eagles Nest Cathedral in Dallas, TX and served as Associate Pastor. After his retirement from the ministry he was employed by Proctor Funeral Home in Camden for over 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mamie Black Tillery; his wife, Edith; stepson, Tim Jones; grandson, Brandon Wayne Young.
He is survived by his daughter, Annette Bradshaw of Fort Smith, AR; son, Carl Tillery, Jr.; two granddaughters, Melanie Bradshaw and Carol Lockhart; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Taylor of Muscle Shoals, AL.
