Camille Robertson Helms went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at her home in Camden, Arkansas.  She was born along with her twin sister, Cecile, on March 14, 1949 and was the daughter of Bruce and Kay Robertson. Camille was a proud member of the El Dorado High School class of 1967 and maintained friendships with many of her classmates throughout her life. She graduated from Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas in May 1972, then attended Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Following that she served as Children's Minister at churches in Oklahoma and Arkansas, and as the Executive Secretary for Elliott Baptist Church. She retired from First Baptist Church in Camden after serving as secretary for 34 years and was the secretary for Liberty Baptist Association for almost three years following that.

Camille had many talents and gifts, but foremost was her beautiful singing voice. She was always happy and honored to share her talents for the Lord. Always ready with a welcoming smile and a kind or helpful word, she was the person you could go to for any information about anyone in the Camden area. Because of her years of service in the church and community, she could answer your questions and give you the names of their parents and siblings as well.

Camille was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Helms; her parents, Kay Robertson, and Bruce and Lovie Robertson; two sisters, Sheila Kay and Angie Collins; grandchildren Audrey Helms and Maddie Kirkley; and nephew, Zachary Thomey.

Camille is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Kirkley; granddaughter, Kyndal Ann Kirkley; and grandson, Triston Kirkley. Also surviving her are her sisters, Cecile Means (Bobby), Jean Ann Foster (Paul), Kim Ann Thomey (Stephen) and Tammy Taylor (Steve), and brother Ricky Hendrix.  Many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive her.

While we grieve our loss, we rejoice with Camille as we think of the great homecoming and reunion which has taken place in the presence of God.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 2:00PM at First Baptist Church of Camden. There will be a visitation held from 1:00PM-2:00PM before the service. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
