Brenda Matthews, 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, in the early morning hours of June 25, 2025. She was born on June 29, 1955, in Camden, Arkansas, to Ralph Edward "Tuffy" Sharp and Mary Florence Nutt Sharp.
Brenda was a retired registered nurse and nursing home administrator who dedicated more than 20 years of her life to caring for others in the medical field. She served as Charge Nurse over the ICU department at Ouachita County Medical Center, worked as a registered nurse at Dallas County Medical Center, she served as the Program Director of the ICF/MR program at Millcreek of Fordyce, and held the position of Nursing Home Administrator at several long-term care facilities across southern Arkansas where her compassion and leadership made a lasting impact.
A devout Christian, Brenda was a faithful member of Warner Spur Assembly of God Church in Camden. She was always quick to offer a prayer, a comforting word, or a listening ear to anyone in need. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering faith touched countless lives.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph "Tuffy" and Mary Florence Sharp, as well as her sister, Theresa Ann Sharp.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Bobby Matthews of Camden; two daughters, Kim Hamilton (Tim) of Farmersville, Texas, and Megan Magby (Wade) of Camden, Arkansas; and two granddaughters, Hailey Hamilton of Farmersville, Texas, and Anniston Magby of Camden, Arkansas. She also leaves behind her brothers, Ronnie Sharp (Dottie) and Randy Sharp (DeAnna), both of Camden, and her little dog Grace, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Brenda's life was one of service, love, and faith, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10:00AM at Proctor Funeral Home.
