Bobby Newton Matthews, 83, of Camden, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 9, 2026.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, checking in on friends, and working in his shop, tinkering on projects. Bobby also worked at International Paper for over forty years and was one of their most tenured employees.

He is survived by his daughters, Kim Hamilton (Tim) of Farmersville, Texas, and Megan Magby (Wade) of Camden, Arkansas; his granddaughters, Hailey Hamilton of Farmersville, Texas, Anniston Magby of Camden, Arkansas, and Codie Tippitt Hughes of North Carolina; stepbrothers, Jimmy Elliott, George Elliott, and Wyley Elliott.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sharp Matthews; his daughter, Rebecca Ballentine; his grandson, Brandon Tippitt; his mother, Mildred Cleo Kelly; his father, Harry Newton Matthews; his stepmother, Adele Matthews; his stepbrother, Lawrence Elliott; and his beloved dog, Grace.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Proctor Funeral Home.

He is now reunited with his beloved wife, restored together in God's eternal love and grace.
