Bettie Irene Pennington, 82 of Bearden, AR passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 22, 1940 in Bearden, AR to Murry and Nellie Hollis Shikle. She had been a member of the Business and Professional Women or the BPW. She enjoyed reading and gardening, but her family was her main joy in life. Bettie thought that the love and time she spent with her family was the most precious moments of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Wayne Pennington; a sister, Alice Floyd; and a grandson, Cameron Eubanks. She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Howard of Bearden, AR and Deborah Elaine Eubanks and husband, Paul of Bearden, AR; grandchildren, Lyndsey Bachuss and husband, Ryan of Huntsville, AR, Shannon Stewart and husband, Will of Camden, AR, Wayne Howard and wife Destiny of Bearden, AR, Heather Stewart and husband, Alex of Bearden, AR, and Brianna Eubanks and husband, Josh of College Station, TX; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Howard, Bella Stewart, Landon Barner, Brandon Howard, Linley Stewart, Ava Eubanks, Emerson Bachuss, J.R. Stewart, Addi Howard, Lakyn Stewart, Vivian Howard, and Ryder Shoop; two sisters, Lemera Smith and husband, Ron of Dothan, AL and Joan Craig and husband, Les of London, AR; two brothers, William Shikle and wife Bobbie of Camden, AR and Terry Shikle and his wife, Eunissa of Locust Bayou, AR; and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Floyd and wife, Helen of Bearden, AR; and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to thank OCMC Hospice for the great care they gave to Bettie. The family would also like to thank the Arkansas Heart Hospital, in Little Rock, AR for everything that they done. The family has asked in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Arkansas Heart Hospital at 1701 Shackleford Rd., Little Rock, AR, 72211.

A memorial service will be held at Proctor Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 10:00AM with interment at Salem Cemetery. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
