Betsy Kilgore, 86, passed away December 25, 2024. She was born at home on the family farm in Dallas County, Arkansas December 24, 1938. She started school in a small country schoolhouse in Princeton, Arkansas. In 1947 the family moved to Camden when her father started a job at International Paper Company. Betsy and David started dating in high school and graduated in 1956 from Fairview High School. Betsy and David married, and she served as a military wife for a few years then she started her career at First National Bank of Camden, now Farmers Bank and Trust, and retired after forty years of service to her community. Betsy loved her customers, and they loved the personal touch she gave to everyone. Betsy was a longtime member of the Business and Professional Women of Camden and served several years as state President. She was an avid lover of the arts, travel and culture, true creativity. She traveled to over 25 countries and loved extraordinary adventures. Betsy was a lifelong Methodist who taught children's Sunday School and wrote the Christmas pageants and hand made all the costumes for over twenty years. A local Methodist church is still using her scripts today.

She is preceded by her husband, David Kilgore; parents, Ralph and Verna Jones; grandson, Eli Evans.

She is survived by two sons, Doug Kilgore (Jeannine) and Mark Kilgore; two daughters, Beth Lindsey (Mickey) and Shannon Honnell (Paul); grandchildren, David D. Kilgore, Sydney Kilgore, Megan Howard (Blane), Gannon Lindsey, Amelia Tran (Danny), Chelsea Cook (Charles), Alex Evans Johnson (Tyson) and her wonderful great-grandchildren; sister, Shelia Beard (Beau).

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 27, 2024, at Westside Methodist Church on Maul Road. Visitation 1:00-2:00PM with service to follow at 2:00PM.
