Bessie Brown Sullivan was born to the late Willie Brown and Lottie Mae Moore Brown on January 6, 1936, in Locust Bayou, Arkansas. She Departed this life on July 19, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Locust Bayou, Arkansas. She united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church in 1958 and remained there until her health failed and she went home to be with the Lord.
Bessie is also preceded in death by her two daughters, Beverly Richardson and Linda Chavis; one grandson, Eric Chavis; six brothers, Lawrence (L.J), Willie Jr., Bobby, Earnest, Johnny, and Clayton Brown; two sisters, Frankie Brown and Clydean Childs.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Jeanell Chavis of Little Rock, AR; one grandson, Lamont Chavis of Little Rock, AR.; four great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, George E. Brown of Little Rock, AR.; a special niece, Josephine Childs; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 24, 2025, 11:00AM at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Thornton, AR.
