Benjamin Henry Cowles, age 76 of Camden, passed away September 3, 2025, at his home. He was born October 4, 1948, to Basil L. and Florence A. Cowles in Corinth, NY. Ben was a US Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam from 1968-1970. Ben was also a mechanic since graduating high school. His last job being McKelvin and Sons. He was a caring and giving person, always ready to help others.
He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and friend. Ben is preceded in death by his father, Basil L. Cowles; mother, Florence A. Moore; son, Ted M. Cowles; granddaughter, Joie McAbee; sister, Evelyn Cowles Goodnow; and father-in-law; Kenneth W. McKelvin.
Ben is survived by his wife, Danabeth McKelvin Cowles of Camden; son, Benjamin M. Cowles and wife, Mary of Pocahontas, AR; daughter, Karri A. Blair and husband, Mickey of Dover, AR; brother, Charles K. Moore and wife, Nancy of N. Weymouth, MA, sisters, Mary L. Frazier and husband, David of Rockland, MA, Susan B. Clarke and husband, Donald of Weymouth, MA, and Florence C. Empey and husband, Roy of Corinth, ME; brother, David A. Moore and wife, Tara of N. Weymouth, MA; brothers-in-law, Steve D. McKelvin and wife, Pat of Camden, AR, Michael R. McKelvin and wife, Renee of Camden, AR and James M. McKelvin and wife, Joy of Camden, AR; mother-in-law, Jonell McKelvin of Camden, AR; grandson, Kevin M. Cowles of Bellevue, NE; granddaughters, Jennifer C. Williams of Pocahontas, AR, Jessica E. Williams of Camden, AR, Jamie M. McAbee of Pocahontas, AR, Josephine C. Herrera of Maynard, AR, Cameron Billingsley of Camden, AR, Lexa N. Billingsley of Camden, AR, Kayla Phifer and husband, Clint of Benton, AR, Bailey Burnham and husband, JB of Arkadelphia, AR, Jessica Enos and North Richland Hills, TX, Lauren Enos of North Richland Hills, TX, and Abby Colley and husband, Kaleb of North Richland Hills, TX; and grandsons, Jacob S. Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00PM Sunday, September 07, 2025, at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
