Anita Joy Adcock Word, 63, went to be with her savior on the night of October 10, 2024. Joy was born on September 1, 1961, in Prescott, AR to the late Bobbie Steed Dennis and James R. Adcock. She graduated from Fairview High School in 1980 and soon after married her sweetheart Robert S. Word on January 23, 1981, who she leaves behind with him their two boys Dillon S. Word (Christa) and Cole Word (Tiffany) all of Camden.
Joy had many titles throughout life wife, mom, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, daughter in law, cousin, friend, but she took the most pride in being called "Mamaw" by her 4 grand "babies" Jaxson J. Word, Ella K. Word, Braxton L. Word, and Branten R. Word.
She was a member of Warner Spur Assembly of God church and loved the Lord. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and having everyone together. She cherished every moment she got to spend with her grand "babies" and always anticipated the next visit. She loved getting to take care of her friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jan Lasater, and father-in-law Bobby S. Word. Joy is survived by her husband, two sons, four grand "babies, her sister Denise Colby, brother in-law Jeffery S. Word (Julie), three nephews Grant Colby, Jonathan Colby, Garrett Word(Katelyn), three nieces Beth Word, Avery Mosley (Mark), and Gracie Lasater, and a host of extend family and friends who treasured her dearly.

Visitation will be October 13, 2024, at the Word House 158 Ouachita 78 in Camden at 2:00pm with interment at Lakeside Cemetery at 4:00pm. Bro. Damon Launius and Mary Jo Taylor will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Proctor Funeral Home for funeral expenses for Joy.
