Andrew (Andy) Marino of Hot Springs passed away on July 19, 2022. Andrew was born December 25, 1932, in Bastrop, LA to Charles and Lena (Domino) Marino. The second of five children, Andrew grew up surrounded by family in Louisiana and Arkansas. He graduated from Camden High School (1950).

Andrew attended Henderson State University and earned a Business Degree (1954). At Henderson, he courted artist Kathryn Whitmore of Augusta. They were married for 53 years prior to her passing.

After completing the ROTC program at Henderson, Andrew was commissioned in the U.S. Army (1954).  He served 23 years in the U.S. Army (Quartermaster Corps), with key assignments in France, Korea, Panama Canal Zone, Vietnam, and at various posts in the U.S.  As a decorated officer Andrew attained many medals including The Legion of Merit, The Bronze Star, and The Soldier's Medal for heroism. After retiring from service in 1977, Andrew was employed at General Dynamics - Camden for 10 years. He supervised the production line and manufacturing engineering. Subsequently, Andrew was an entrepreneur; he owned small businesses and managed several Camden rental properties.

Andrew's hobbies included refurbishing classic cars and developing many inventions. Throughout his life, Andrew fostered a love for playing football (Camden H.S. and Henderson), tennis, racquetball, and other sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family and studying the stock market. He especially cherished the Marino family's large gatherings for Sunday dinner.

Andrew was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Kathryn (Whitmore) Marino; his son, Mark Marino; and brother, Camille Marino.

He is survived by wife Carla Marino, son Charles Marino (Lisa), daughter Andrianna Stearns (Keith), and stepdaughter Mondi Starkey (Eric). Andrew was "Pops" to his grandchildren Krista Grimes (Rhett), Ryan Stearns, Kennan Marino and Loran Stearns, and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Anna Mae Alexander, Charles (Chuck) Marino, Jr. (Anita), and Johnny Marino (Jane), Camille's widow Judy Marino, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4:00-6:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2022. Services will be 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Proctor Chapel followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
