Bro. Alvin James "Cool" Goshen was born on June 6, 1959, to James and Rosie Goshen in Camden, AR. He departed this life on September 10, 2023. Alvin accepted Christ as his savior at an early age at New St. Mary Baptist Church.

Alvin, also known as "Cool" to his family and friends was a very helpful servant. He began his work career at John Deer, Lockheed Martin, and Roger's Lumber Company. He enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and helping his neighbors.

He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Sonya Goshen. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents James and Rosee Goshen and his infant brother. Alvin did not have children of his own, but he cared for many.

As Alvin has now transitioned from this earthly life, he leaves family and many friends to cherish his memories. He will be deeply missed by his siblings: sister, Belinda Gill (Clarence) of Camden, AR, Jessie Goshen of Camden, AR, Selma Green (Donald) of Camden, AR, Joyce A. Goshen of Camden, AR, Joyce M. Goshen of Camden, AR, Thelma Lewis (Stanley) of Camden, AR, Vera Goshen of Jackson, MS, and Kimberly Goshen of Hot Springs, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00AM Saturday, September 16, 2023 at New St. Mary Baptist Church, 1776 Hwy 7 North, Camden, AR 71701.  Burial will be in New St. Mary Cemetery in Harmony Grove, AR.  Visitation will be 5:00PM to 7:00PM Friday at Proctor Funeral Home.
