Obituary

Aloma Leah Scrape Evans, born August 8, 1944, in Little Rock, AR, passed away in her home in Camden, AR on October 3, 2023. She was born to William Earl "Dub" and Myrtle Juanita "Jean" Scrape, Aloma was a spinner of tales, protector of many, and the strongest of women. Everyone who knew her remembers her humor, the way she would pick and poke, the smile on her face, the stubbornness with which she navigated life, and the fierce way she would protect those who needed protecting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Edward Evans, in January of 2016 after 51 years of marriage.

She is survived by her brother, Joe Earl and Mary Ann Scrape, three daughters, Paula Jo Evans, Stacye Evans Deaton and Billie Nicole Dickinson and Jason Dickinson, her grandchildren, Casey and Nathan Bazyk, Dallas Deaton, Taylor and Clayton McKelvin and Nicolas Dickinson. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and a whole generation of people who knew her as Ms. A.

When you think of her, her family hopes you remember to order dessert first, to dish it out as well as you take it, and to not take anything too seriously.

In lieu of flowers, her family has requested donations go to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
