Aleigha Jade
Vann
Aug 11, 2008 — Apr 12, 2024
Sparkman
Aleigha Vann passed from this life suddenly on Friday, April 12, 2024, while en route to Baptist Health Medical Center in Conway, Arkansas, as a result of a tragic ATV accident.
"Aleigha Jade" was born on August 11, 2008, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Being an only child, Aleigha was the apple of her mom, Brandi's, eye, and they shared a very close bond from the beginning. Aleigha also shared a special relationship with her maternal grandparents, Doyle (Buddy) and Carolyn Vann, who were like second parents to her, and with her first cousin, Wesley Vann, who thought of Aleigha more as a sister than a cousin.
Aleigha was very intelligent, and her mom described her as a "happy person, who would light up a room when she walked in." Aleigha had many friends, including two special friends, who she would want to mention; her best friend, Izzy McDonald, and an adult friend, Nicole McKenzie, who she had made on her life's journey. In the summer of 2023, Aleigha scared everyone when she was bit by a Copperhead snake. This mishap resulted in an overnight stay in the hospital and affectionately earned her the nickname "Snakebite" with her friend, Nicole.
Aleigha enjoyed listening to music, writing in her journal, drawing, reading, and roller skating. Aleigha really loved to sing, and she loved her Chiweenie, Ollie, and her cats, Molly and Mo, as well.
Aleigha was a 9th grade student at Harmony Grove High School and was also a member of the Harmony Grove School Choir, where she sang soprano. Aleigha planned to pursue a higher education and career in the music field after graduation.
At the age of 8, Aleigha accepted Christ as her Savior and became a member of Ouachita Baptist Church where she attended all of her life. Aleigha had her struggles but praise the Lord, when we are His children, He forgives and restores us when we but ask. Aleigha's family is utterly devastated and heartbroken but takes comfort in the assurance that Aleigha is now in Heaven, face-to-face with Jesus, and with loved ones who have gone before.
Aleigha is survived by her mother, Brandi Vann; her father, Kirk Alsobrook and his wife, Brenda; her siblings, A.J. Alsobrook, Alex Alsobrook, Hunter Alsobrook, Kira Alsobrook, Anysten Childers, Hadley Walker, Thomas Walker, and Wesley Vann; her maternal grandparents, Buddy and Carolyn Vann; her paternal grandparents, Steve Alsobrook and Donna Laisure; uncles, Jeremy (JoAnn) Vann, Brandon (Krystle) Vann and Kyle Alsobrook; one aunt, Amberly Alsobrook Nowlin; one niece, Emmy Childers; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, at Ouachita Baptist Church with Brother Carley Davis and Brother Ken Key officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery in nearby Pine Grove Community with Brother Wayne Daniell officiating.
