James Owen Fincher

James Owen Fincher, 92 of Camden, AR passed away Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Ouachita County Medical Center. He was born December 24, 1920 to Floyd Doss and Emma Hudaburgh Fincher in Camden, AR. He was a member of Maul Road Church of Christ.
He was a retired service station ower in Camden and a veteran of World War II. He fought in the five major battles and flew 62 missions as the pilot of the P-38 Lightning named “The Arkansas Traveller.” He left the Air Force as a Captain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Doss and Emma Hudaburgh Fincher; brother, Harold Fincher; and sister, Melba Fincher.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Laura Evelyn Bridges Fincher of Waldo, AR; daughter, Carol Fincher of Little Rock, AR; sisters, Betty Jo Snelson and husband, Ed of Ft. Worth, TX and Emma Jean Anderson and husband, Carrel of Tuscalusa, AL; and sister-in-law, Alma Jean Fincher of Camden, AR.
A graveside service will be 1:00PM Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Frazier Cemetery in Magnolia, AR. Johnnie Hobbie will officiate the service. Visitation will be 10:30-11:30AM Wednesday at Proctor Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maul Road Church of Christ, 1425 Maul Road, Camden, AR 71701.
